The "brown thing" is Sweetie Pie and she loves to play with Doober.

Do you notice the shaved area on Doober's left front leg? Just a couple of days after getting shot with a BB gun, he turned up sick on a Sunday morning. Theresa wound up taking him to the animal emergency clinic where they determined that he had a 4 degree temperature and was a sick Doober. They set up an IV so they could administer antibiotics. He got better Sunday night and was released to our local vet on Monday morning. Dr. Dehoff kept him Monday night. Both Theresa and Dr. Dehoff thought that Doober had been poisoned.
We got Doober home on Tuesday, and on Wednesday we got Sweetie. We kept Doober chained up or closed up in the garage so he could recover and because a neighbor dog was in heat. What a nightmare! All Doober could think of was getting to that bitch.
Doober recovered nicely from the illness, so the following Monday we had him neutered. It was another week before the neighbor dog was out of heat and Doober was back to normal.
As it turned out, Doober had been hunting rabbits and early Sunday morning (of the day he got sick), I found him in the yard finishing a two day old rabbit. (I was with him on a walk when he caught the rabbit and buried it for later snacking.) He has a sensitive GI system anyway, so his sickness was probably (and I hope) from eating a "bad" rabbit.
Sheesh!
