Sweetie and Doober Excavate an Iris Bed

This little garden spot was previously an ugly mess of mint growing around a large rock.
I got the idea of getting the doobers to help me dig up the mess so I could plant some Irises.
I figured I could get them to dig in an area by injecting the area with mole scent, but I didn't know how to get them to dig in a perfect circle.
A little Internet searching turned up the answer.
Apparently, the Russian Army uses dogs to dig land mine holes and restricts the area dug by encircling it with a piece of string soaked in amonia. The Russians use rabbit scent instead of mole.
So, I waited until the dogs came home with a fresh mole, scented my Buck knife with it, skewered the area around the rock, circled the rock with the stinky string, and called the doobers. After a half hour I was ready to plant.

Sweetie is happy with it.

Doober is ready to do some more gardening.
