Don't panic. She's OK.
Theresa and Lesley were leaving separately in van and truck to take the van to the shop in Paola to get it worked on. Theresa pulled out first and as Lesley started backing out she heard a yelp. Lesley determined that she had nearly run over Sweetie.
But Theresa was gone, and Sweetie's leg was bleeding.
Lesley called the vet, declared an emergency, proceeded to heft the 78 pound Sweetie into the truck bed , tied her in so she couldn't jump over the side and took off for the Louisburg Animal Clinic.
Upon reaching the clinic, Lesley calls the car shop and asks them to advise Theresa.
Meanwhile, Theresa arrives at the shop, deposits the van and is ready for Lesley to pick her up. The shop employees do not advise her of Lesley's whereabouts.
Theresa retrieves the van and heads home in a worried state to look for Lesley.
The vet declares Sweetie OK after observing a scrape with three neat patches of hair missing from her leg, so Lesley and Sweetie head for the car shop.
Lesley and Theresa pass each other on 169 highway. Theresa sees Lesley but cannot turn around or stop right away because 169 is a killer highway and there was construction that forced cars into a line in one lane which required a lead car.
Lesley gets to the car shop and finds out that Theresa is gone so she turns around and heads home.
Finally they pass each other again in front of WalMart in Paola and are able to rendezvous.
They deposited the van again, took Sweetie to Sonic for an ice cream, and headed home.
Sheeeeeeeesh.
What do you think about all of this Sweetie?
