Sweetie's Free

It has been 4 months to the day since the knee surgery, so today is freedom day.

We have kept her confined in the garage and basement or on a leash all that time.

I don't think it means much to Sweemie since she has gotten used to the attention and pampering.

This past week I have been letting her out at night on her own before bedtime so she could do her business, but when she walked out the door, she instinctively stopped and waited for me to exit and close the door behind me. She was confused by my just standing there looking at her. She'll get over it.

Did you notice the mole run in the upper right hand corner of the above picture?

Here is the "otter-tail" with her ear flipped back listening for Doober who is probably one or two sections away by now.

Her energy level is way down now, so she can't keep up with Nams (short for NamNog which is a consonant-challenged version of ManDog, the name for Doober/Pooky when he got big). It will be interesting to see how she recuperates.

Did I ever tell you that Doober/NamNog/Manz/Doer/Stinky/BabyMan/etc. never comes when we call him?

Here she is looking down the lower pond dam.

If she were up to par, she would not be looking.

We are only about 400 yards from the house, but it's already time for a break.

She likes to carry a "chewy thing" on her walks. Thus the half rawhide chew.

I think Doober is beckoning us to go.
